Charity Auction – 2013 ASICS Keper Challenge entry opportunity

The Kepler Challenge Committee has decided to auction a much sought after
place in the 2013 ASICS Kepler Challenge. This is now listed on Trademe:

The proceeds of the auction will go to a fund for Brooke Cantwell, the daughter of Lesley Cantwell who died recently after winning a race walking
title in Tahiti.

Lesley Cantwell was an inspiration and a very well respected member of the Fiordland community. Lesley was a quiet spoken person who was dedicated to
her 3 year old daughter Brooke, her family, her sport of race walking and was proudly representing NZ.

Lesley overcame a challenging medical condition to set her goals to represent NZ at an Olympic games and was on target being ranked in the top
2 of NZ race walkers.  She had just won the Oceania title in Tahiti when she tragically collapsed and died.

Lesley's loss is felt by all who knew her and by many others who took inspiration from her achievements.  The NZ athletics community has started
a fund for Brooke for her future and any support for this fund is appreciated.

Lesley’s passing is a stark reminder that life is too short - just like Lesley love your friends and family, set yourself goals, aim high and live

If the auction reaches $1000 the winner will also get along with their entry a complimentary race t-shirt and buffet breakfast on Sunday morning
after the race at Te Anau Distinction Hotel and Villas.

Anyone who already has a place but would still like to give a donation to the fund set up by Athletics New Zealand can make contributions to:
ASB account no. 12-3192-0002433-05

Happy bidding!
